The Alabama Dermatology Society

Welcome to the Alabama Dermatology Society website.  The ADS website will continue to add valuable information for professionals and the general public alike, so please check often for updates.

The Alabama Dermatology Society was founded in 1951 by Dr. Ray O. Noojin, chair of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Dermatology Department, and Dr. Lamar S Osment.  The ADS is a progressive educational society offering multiple CME opportunities in Alabama, the U.S. and abroad.

"The purpose is to offer activities for continuing medical education experiences to continue to improve diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities of the members."

Dermatology Summer Symposium is the ADS flagship meeting, which takes place each summer at The Sandestin Beach Hilton Hotel.  This year's meeting is scheduled for June 23-26, 2011.

In recent years, the ADS has organized the Seminar At Sea cruise series which included destinations such as Cancun, the Western Caribbean, Alaska, the Greek Islands and Tahiti.
This year the ADS will host the forth annual Seminar In The City.  The meeting will take place at Times Square Hilton in New York on May 25-28, 2012.

There are also three quarterly meetings in conjunction with the UAB Dermatology Department. Live patients are presented by UAB residents and society members in a clinical setting. These meetings also include didactic lectures from key opinion leaders in Dermatology throughout the U.S.
